How To Prepare For Your Engagement Session
First of all, Congrats on your engagement! This so exciting! I am so happy for you, and your new adventure! I hope your session goes smoothly and is enjoyable. Here are some tips that I hope are helpful.
1. Watch the hands… Since this is your engagement session, we will be getting close up shots of your hands. So be mindful about watches, bracelets or scrunchies. Also make sure that your nails are camera ready.
2. Make it a date night. Have champagne and celebrate. I always encourage couples to make a day of it if they can. Celebrate this moment because you want to remember it in a positive way for many years to come.
3. Prepare your outfits accordingly. No logos/brand names or distracting patterns. You want to make sure that your colors coordinate well together. If you are unsure about the outfits, reach out to your photographer for help.
4. No smelly foods or spicy foods before your session. If you want to have some gum, make sure to have it prior to the session. Be prepared for hugs, kisses and silly games! During these sessions, I try to show your connection and your love for one another. Don’t be nervous, I promise it will go smoothly.
5. Make it personal. If you have a place that has significance for you, let your photographer know. If you have a special story on how you met or mementos that are significant to your story, let the photographer know so that they can try to incorporate that into your session.
Congratulations again! I hope this information is helpful.
